DP + KIRSTY

DP & Kirsty met in 2020 during Covid lockdowns. Here is their story in their own words:

We met in 2020 during Hard Lockdown. I was doing my final year, she was doing her honour’s degree at that time, and we stayed in the same complex. In an effort to curb Isolation Insanity, my friend and I arranged to start making dinner together in the evenings with everyone in the complex. What followed was more than a few post-supper chats that went on well past midnight as well as sporadic coffee (me)/ tea (her) sessions. That was how our friendship was born. As our friendship grew, I was the first to start realizing that I would very much like to have this develop into a courtship (while she remained oblivious). And so in December of that year, under a starry Karoo sky, I asked her if she would like to join me in a courtship, stuttering a bit from the seriousness of the situation, knowing full well that if successful the end result would be a wedding (big words for a chap at that stage). She agreed. From there it was only by the grace of God and the work of the Holy Spirit that our relationship thrived despite a long-distance relationship, the clumsy acts of an early relationship, and some major personal challenges to this exciting stage of being engaged and looking forward to saying “Till death do us part, or till Christ returns”.
